About F³
Why Sustainability?
A question you never asked, yet you didn’t know it is important haha.
Let’s look at it this way: When mentioning Sustainability, what are the first industries that cross your mind? Mobility, slow fashion, food, renewable energy…but you never guess music. Why? because people don’t tend to think about the impact of leisure activities in their lives. It doesn’t matter how they are consumed as long as they are entertaining.
Impact of Music
Yet, the music industry has its fair share of deforestation in the rainforest like guitar manufacturing that requires the use of exotic wood such as rosewood and ebony, which are often sourced from forests endangered by unsustainable logging practices. Also, live music events produce 450,000 tonnes of gas emissions every year in the UK alone. This includes emissions from a variety of sources, such as the energy used at concerts, the transport of musicians and equipment and the impact of the audience travelling to and from the venue.
Time for change
It’s time for the music industry to wake up and adopt sustainable practices that are better for our health and our planet. It’s also important for music fans to change their consumption habits – instead of buying new records, they should save old ones before they end up in landfills. Don’t worry, we, the team at Forte³, have made it our life’s mission to guide you, advise you and raise awareness about the need to protect the environment and enjoy music at the same time.
